Amsterdam-based startup Media Distillery raised 600.000 euro from Dutch VC's Peak Capital and Vortex Capital Partners. CEO Roland Sars also invested.

The company, founded in 2014, takes part in the YES!Delft incubator programme. It lets you analyze audio and video in real-time, which comes in handy when you want to search TV or radio content, for instance. Clients can add alerts when a certain brand, person or search term is being used – which also makes the platform useful PR-wise. Media companies use the tech of Media Distillery to make their archives more 'searchable'.

Fun fact: Media Distillery is used by other Dutch media monitoring startups like Coosto, Buzzcapture, Meltwater and Clipit.

With the money the startup wants to further develop the platform and to expand internationally. According to business news site RTL Z there are plans for Belgium, France, Germany and the UK.

Media Distillery's new CEO

Roland Sars earlier this year joined founders Joost en Wit en Geert Vos as CEO in a quest to find investors. In 2014 he sold his company BackupAgent. "Peak Capital and Vortex Capital Partners have a lot of experience in the fast-growing market in which Media Distillery operates", he said in a release.

Peak recently invested in InvoiceFinance, and is better known for its investments in Catawiki and the exits of IENS and Radionomy. Vortex last year invested in Iceleads (now known as Hatch) and Pastbook.
