Initiative of StartupDelta and TNO
Today TekDelta launches its platform. TekDelta, an initiative of Startup Delta and TNO, makes patents, laboratories and research facilities easily available to startups. Among others, TNO, universities, corporates as KPN, Philips and NXP and startup accelerators will cooperate closely on this topic. Cooperation will result in the facilitation of more startups and scale-ups, who may grow and scale-up more easily by which Dutch scientific knowledge will reach the market more quickly and efficiently.
Today StartupDelta and TNO have officially launched the initiative TekDelta at the open day of incubator YES!Delft, where entrepreneurship and startups took center stage. Paul de Krom, Chairman of the Board of Innovation organization TNO stated during the launch that TekDelta matched the vision of TNO to tie together parties and knowledge. “TNO believes in the power of open innovation and aims to bring innovation closer to the market together with startups. In doing so, TNO gladly discloses its labs, intellectual property and expertise.”
TekDelta will start with a pilot as lead to a multiannual programme, focused on startups who deal primarily with Internet of Things and Big Data. Via TekDelta they will have low threshold access to the knowledge, experience and facilities of parties such as KPN, Philips, NXP, Technical Universities and applied scientific research institutes ECN and TNO. Startup organisations that support TekDelta are Rockstart, YES!Delft, HealthValley, Startup Amsterdam, Venture Café and LabforRent.
On Thursday the 21st of April TekDelta organises an open workshop about the Do’s and Don’t for cooperation between startups & corporates at Venture Café Rotterdam.
