Grab a nice warm cup of coffee (or hot chocolate) to brace yourselves against the freezing cold. Sit down, relax and read all you have to know about the Dutch startup scene last week.

Funding

We saw a lot of funding activity halfway through January:

HR analytics tool Crunchr raised an undisclosed amount of seed funding led by Randstad Innovation Fund. The money is used for the direct development of Crunchr.

E-commerce platform Mall-Connect raised a 1 million euro series A round from Newion Investments, aimed at the development of mobile marketing and loyalty programs, and to enable further (international) growth.

Insurance company Aegon took a minority share in software startup Newest Industry.

Sunny news in snowy Holland: the solar energy analytics startup SolarMonkey secured a seed investment of 200.000 euro from InnovationQuarter and an unknown angel investor. The funding is used to introduce the service to the market.

Software company iWelcome secured a series B investment from PPM Oost and existing investors Newion and Filsa Capital. The investment will be used to accelerate the international growth of the company, by expanding its sales and marketing operations across the United Kingdom and mainland Europe, and for growing its product development and customer success teams.
