Last year’s UPRISE festival, held for the first time, was a refreshing new experience to celebrate the Dutch startup scene. This year the festival returns twice as strong.

The previous edition of UPRISE got 3500 visitors and 77 startups attending. This year, over 200 startups will attend (including job market). More than 10.000 visitors are expected. Twice as strong? That’s a mild statement! Come to Amsterdam on September 25-26 and see what’s it all about.

Look at some, and I repeat, just some of the highlights:

UPRISE location

This year’s location is just as impressive as last year’s cozy Roest. In the industrial NDSM Wharf (size of a football field) you’re sure to get more breathing space. As a former shipyard, NDSM is now a famous cultural hotspot in Amsterdam. An inspiring environment!

Pitch battle

What’s a startup event without a pitch battle? The winner will get more than 100 hours of consulting from Microsoft.

Workshops

There are 26 workshops and 4 masterclasses to attend – for instance: Growth Hacking by David Amoux (Growth Tribe Academy) and Creating a High Velocity Sales Machine by Jon Woodroof (consultant).

SPIN ping pong competition

Throughout the festival, you can feel what it’s like to attend in the startup scene’s favourite kind of procrastination: ping pong! From casual wake-up games and ‘around the table’ to a startup competition and challenging the best player in Amsterdam.

Educating youngsters

Although the festival is very startup minded, it also tries to inspire kids with tech and entrepreneurship. On the second day (Saturday) you can bring your kids to The Playground, where they can attend all kinds of fun workshops. Connect bananas to the internet, or making your own games and robots!

StartupJuncture will be at the UPRISE startup festival to report, chat, network, drink lots of coffee and hey, maybe even play some ping pong. Be sure to say hi!
