Startupbootcamp is organizing a startup summercamp for kids in Amsterdam called Startup Kids. From August 22-26 children will learn to create something out of their ideas.
The first fund-in-fund investment for InnovationQuarter: it invests in BioGeneration Capital Fund III, the new venture capital fund of BioGeneration Ventures. The fund focuses on companies in the life sciences & health sector. Investors include Dutch and UK based family offices, Topfonds Gelderland and LEH Holding. The amount of the first closing is 25 million euro – the goal is to raise 50 million in total.
MessageBird is the next Dutch startup to enter Y Combinator, found business news site Emerce. It is however not the first: Impraise and Gitlab were its precursors.
A look at out 'neighbours from the south', Belgium. In the first half of 2016, Belgium-based tech startups have collectively raised 56 rounds of funding worth a combined 106 million euro, calculated Tech.eu.

Delft-based medtech startup Nightbalance has raised a series B round of 12.5 million euro, led by Inkef Capital (founded by pension fund ABP) and Gilde Healthcare Partners.
